The Department of Radiology at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University Medical Center invites applications for a radiopharmacist at the assistant professor rank (non- tenure track) to support the day to day operation of the PET Production Facility, as well as, the Radiopharmacy operations of the Kreitchman PET Center.
Reporting to the Associate Director and Supervising Pharmacist for the Kreitchman PET Center, with whom the radiopharmacist candidate will share responsibility, engaging in the preparation and/or supervision of quality control measures, assay and dispensing for all radiopharmaceuticals at the Kreitchman PET Center.
The candidate will support:
· Improvement of an efficient system for the orderly dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals and for their full documentation in accordance with the various requirements of the regulatory agencies, as well as good clinical practices.
· Prepare requisitions and suitability requirements for future APIs.
· Support procurement of radionuclides and other active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
· Expected to participate and support existing programs for the development and evaluation of new radiopharmaceutical agents.
· Support the education and training of the laboratory and clinical staff in these areas.
· Provide nuclear medicine and radiology residents and fellows with both didactic and performance-based Board Certification training; and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The salary of $150,000 for the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. · Bachelor's or PharmD degree;
· Nuclear Pharmacy Board Certification preferred;
· MUST be NYS Registered Pharmacist or immediate eligibility for NYS Licensure reciprocation;
· Possessing, or capable of fulfilling, additional NYS designation as an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist (ANP). Alternatively, must be an Authorized User (AU) and eligible for designation as an ANP;
· MUST have at least two years previous experience with radiopharmaceuticals;
· Possess a knowledge of FDA, USP and radiologic health regulations;
· Well-versed in drug product quality assurance and release, as well as unit dose calculation and dispensing;
· Demonstrate clear understanding of aseptic handling skills and environmental controls for sterility assurance;
· Familiarity in specialized techniques, such as radiolabeling of small and biochemical molecules using either cyclotron- or generator-produced radionuclides preferred;
· Familiarity with function and operation of modern analytical and chemical methodologies such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC);
· Ability to create regulatory documents, such as policies and procedures, as well as Drug Applications or Annual Reports preferred;
· Working knowledge of health physics equipment and instrumentation as they relate to exposure, contamination, and transport.
