The Department of English and Modern Languages seeks an adjunct to teach French Intermediate language or French Civilization and Culture courses, teaching 1-2 courses per semester.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
+ An M.A or M.A.T in French. + Area of specializations could include: 19th/20th century Literature, History and Civilization, Translation, Film and/or Cultural studies, or Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition + 2-5 years of experience teaching at the college level
+ Near native French proficiency and experience living abroad
+ Knowledge of SLA theory and strategies that emphasize creativity and classroom engagement
+ Understands and knows how to thoughtfully provide comprehensible input with flexibility
+ Willing to work collaboratively within the department to support French enrollment with enthusiasm
